Hike for a Home: Conquering Kilimanjaro for a Cause

A group of determined men embarked on a life-changing journey to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, not for personal glory, but to raise crucial funds for Metro Relief and The Homeless Pastors.

From the very start, the mission was met with significant challenges:

Their essential climbing gear was lost, forcing them to rent replacements.

The brutal terrain shredded their footwear, adding to their struggle.

Chris, one of our Homeless Pastors, suffered deep tissue inflammation, enduring excruciating pain. His shoes completely fell apart, requiring makeshift repairs using masking tape. He was eventually airlifted to the hospital but refused to quit.

Despite these hardships, the team persevered, tackling the formidable Machame route over six strenuous days, reaching 20,000 feet by the 21st.
