From chaos to Kilimanjaro - A story of transformation

For years, my life was dominated by ADHD and reckless decisions, leading me into addiction, crime and a destructive cycle. By 15, I was serving my first custodial sentence, marking the beginning of 21 years of incarceration and institutionalisation. By 35, I was utterly lost. Broken by years of addiction and hopelessness, I reached my lowest point. In sheer desperation, I cried out, "God, if You're real, help me."

What happened next was beyond my understanding—an overwhelming peace washed over me, stripping my suffering of its power. That moment changed everything.

Determined to change my life, I started my recovery within prison through the Inspire Programme. I attended the prison chapel and enrolled in Bible school, where I began to rebuild my faith. Upon my release in 2022, I entered Alpha House Rehab, where I committed to my recovery, successfully completing their program. I took further steps by studying Health & Social Care and earning a diploma in Mental Health.

In April 2023, I met Dave during a football game, and we instantly became friends. He invited me to a Community Group and that one invitation changed the course of my life. Surrounded by people who genuinely cared, I found purpose beyond my past. Dave encouraged me to complete the volunteer training program and by August 2024, I was given a paid role as a Homeless Pastor. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to serving others. I’ve participated in over 120 street outreaches, attended more than 100 Community Groups and worked with the Immanuel Project in Bradford, supporting people on the margins.

Additionally, I’ve shared my testimony in churches, ministries, rehabs, and local businesses, building partnerships and offering hope to those in despair. Now, I have multiple years of recovery—all thanks to God sweeping down and picking me up.

On February 14th, 2025 I completed Kilimanjaro - Wow. Just wow!
