The Light Group is committed to supporting people experiencing homelessness across Accrington, Blackburn, Nelson, Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, and Dewsbury. Our outreach teams regularly go onto the streets to engage with those in need, building relationships and trust. We provide practical support, offering hot drinks, emergency supplies such as sleeping bags, hats, gloves, and socks, and where possible, a means of contact like a mobile phone. However, our main focus is to help people move off the streets as quickly as possible.

 

Every week, we make referrals to rehabs, women’s refuges, supported housing, and local housing services, helping individuals find safety and stability.Beyond immediate needs, we aim to bring people out of isolation and into connection. This is where The Light Groups come in. We invite those we meet on the streets to join our community groups, where they can build relationships, receive support for recovery and mental health, and explore faith in a welcoming environment. Our goal is not just to meet urgent needs but to offer hope, lasting change, and a path towards a better future.
